Three anime shows to watch during quarantine

We all know what anime is like right if its not super giant robots fighting toiling wins or the supernatural. Its a sleazy love triangle and some high school drama or the combination of above four. During the quarantine days I got a chance to watch three anime shows beside many other series to kill my time and I found these three very interesting so I thought I might share my experience with you all.

Samurai Champloo

Samurai Champloo is the second series by the director Shin’ichiro Watanabe after Cowboy Bebop. Series is more episodic where each episode contains a story of its own. The show is about the journey than the destination itself. Three main characters are Mugen, Jin, and Fuu. Mugen seems a very dynamic character while Jin is a dull one. Fuu can be described as a monkey on a push bicycle. Soundtracks deserve a mention because the anime uses hip hop as its main theme and music fits surprisingly best for the series. For the animation this is one of the best animations I have seen. They have done many experiments to make animation more cinematic with moving backgrounds. This gives the anime some of the coolest sword fights you will see. The show is a cool one to watch with some quite awesome episodes and some are average. The show isn’t like its predecessor Cowboy Bebop but deserves to give it a try. Most of the time the series tries to be like bebop but fell short.

Naruto Shippuden

Naruto as series quietly contrast to any other fighting anime since this delivers some refresh to the table. Cast of the “Chakra” is truly an idea from the elders. Surely one can argue that Chakra is similarly served in Dragon ball universe but the difference is in Naruto universe chakra can be utilized in numerous ways rather than in one or two ways. It can be utilized to walk on water on trees, healing, and do Jutsus. Depending on the individual’s chakra nature, it can be released in a variety of elements. This reminds the anime “Avatar: The Last Airbender” or even the “Power Puff Girls”. this anime is not perfect because there are a couple of plot holes in the script appear time to time but the overall storyline keeps you intact except the boring fillers. Overall character development in Naruto Shippuden is well presented. Naruto and Sasuke are the two primary characters who keep pushing the series. Series revolves around the friendship of Naruto and Sasuke and tailed beast which is sealed within Naruto. Naruto tries to control the tailed beast powers and towards the end he befriended with the notorious nine-tailed fox. Sasuke’s character has a dynamic and complex one. Through the progression his character is developed more with the help of others. The development of villains in Shippuden was done beautifully as each has one unique ability and diversity in every fight. The supporting characters are presented well. As far as the animation is done is very cleanly and detailed. Through the anime, a few minor animation inconsistency is used but besides that animation was pretty beautiful. Soundtracks are good and fit with the anime very well and do a great job to set the tone in many situations. In conclusion I must say this anime is pretty good.

Death Note

Death note is an anime that fits its description nicely. An anime that doesn’t need superpower flights or giants robots to be entertaining. Proven that all you need to put up a great show is a notebook that can kill a Def con that has way too much time in his hands and a rivalry between two boys, in turn, a mission to kill each other or toss each other off. The story goes something like this, a black notebook with the power to kill predictably. Its death not where Shinigami word dropped in the human world. The protagonist “Yagami” gets his hands on that book and gets the services of a shinigami that looks more like Joker with uglier perception. Yagami starts killing criminals and bad guys all in the name of justice. In contrast a super “teenage” detective with alias “L” tries to catch him. What do you say? Its not your typical anime concept is it? Now it is a very interesting anime as this one requires you to use your brain which makes its popularity a mystery to me. Anyway I enjoyed death note as it was an anime that constantly kept me guessing till the end. To me it was like most interesting chess games ever played. All in all death note is probably one of the most interesting I have ever seen, it will keep you on the edge of your seats and occasionally pushes you off. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing and it features one of the greatest rivalries in animes but in the end it doesn’t matter who wins or loses because they all lose to the star and real main character of this show “Matsuda”.
